Prospect Park
The Foundation provided for a multi-year initiative to improve the care and pruning of trees throughout the park. The project includes new staffing and the purchase of equipment that will allow the park to catch up on years of needed care for its important collection of trees.
Bedford Audubon
With a grant from the Foundation, the Bedford Audubon convened a group of scientists and skilled volunteers to conduct a biodiversity census of more than 2,000 acres on six sites in Westchester County, N.Y. This bioblitz, said to be the largest ever conducted in the U.S., included a survey of the Leon Levy Preserve in South Salem, which is safeguarded by the Westchester Land Trust.
